The course's overarching objective is to equip a critical mass of policy officials and national statistical offices staff with key concepts, definitions, and sources for migration data. The course intends to increase awareness of SDG context, AU Migration Policy framework, as well as data innovation and strategies to disseminate migration data. Covering technical migration data development initiatives and leveraging experience-sharing as a learning strategy, the course aims to build knowledge and awareness of best practices in migration data in Africa (with a focus on Eastern Africa) to inform possible future replication at national and regional levels.
